Company processes ready for business growth

Are your business processes ready for growth? If you’re not sure how to answer this question, read on.

In order to be ready for growth, you need to have the right processes in place. Business experts say that at every stage of business, your business processes will break and need redoing. So how can you make sure you’re ready for growth?

The first thing you need to do is define ‘growth’. How do you intend to grow? Will you increase your prices and the quality of your service, or will you increase the number of clients and therefore the size of the team or will you simply sell more of an automated digital product? You can rely on Search Engine Consultants to guide you.

Once you know how you want to grow, you need to make sure you have the following in place:

1. Processes

You need to first make sure that your core processes are in place and strongly established, Everyone in the company knows what these are and they are therefore passed on to new recruits effortlessly. Practically without the need for formal training.

You need to have processes for everything.

2. Systems

Every process needs to have the right systems in place. Are you using different systems and software for every process, or have you managed to simplify and integrate everything? Ideally, your systems need to integrate all your processes onto one place and simplify as much as possible.

3. Documentation

It’s important that both systems and processes are documented. In order to be ready for growth, it's important that everything has a document trail and the ‘correct’ way of doing something is not debatable. Everything needs to be documented.

4. Staff safety nets

Once you have all your systems and people in place you need to make sure that your processes cannot break when under pressure. The first thing to think about is to make sure that you train more than one member of staff to do each part of the process.

Therefore when you lose an employee or have a position in transition, there are other people to cover. This will keep your systems up and running at all times.

If you have all of the points above covered, especially for your sales department, then you’re surely ready for growth. We also think you could be ready to increase the number of leads coming into your business and take your business to the next level.
